Legal fees - Individuals

There are no tariffs or fixed rates rendered for the completion of private assignments. The hourly rate is determined by the appointed lawyer’s experience and specialist field. The amount of time spent working on the assignment lays the foundation for the fee. Other factors which are used to calculate legal fees are the extent and level of difficulty, the economic interests involved, how efficient the work is organised and the result of the proceedings.

Our hourly rates (guiding price) incl. 25 % VAT for legal services for private individuals are:

  • From 2,000,- to 3,000,- for work executed by partners
  • From 1,875,- to 2,500,- for work executed by counsels in charge
  • From 1,250,- to 1,500,- for work executed by lawyers
  • From 1,250,- to 1,625,- for work executed by  associates

Other guiding rates incl. VAT for the completion of:

  • Testament: 4,000,- to 20,000
  • Marriage settlement: 4,000,- to 20,000,- + government fees
  • Deed of conveyance incl. registration fee: 4,500,- + government fees
  • Deed of conveyance incl. registration and settlement fees: 8,000,- + government fees
  • Deed of conveyance and mortgage document incl. registration fee: 10,000,- + government fees

All rates are in Norwegian kroners (NOK).

We emphasise that, despite of having been given an estimate for completion at the beginning of an assignment, an increase of the estimated fee can occur if the assignment alters. The fee will also increase if an assignment leads to court proceedings.

Disbursements, for example government fees, will be added.

If you qualify to receive legal aid and advice free of charge our hourly rates will correspond with the government set rates, currently at NOK 850,- (NOK 1,062,50 incl. vat).
